Landmark Freedom of Expression Case in Zambia

DLA Piper’s New Perimeter project with the Southern African Litigation Centre (SALC) in Johannesburg achieved an important success when the Zambian Supreme Court upheld a decision not to deport Roy Clarke, a British journalist who allegedly insulted Zambia President Levy Mwanawasa in a 2004 column published in a privately owned newspaper.
